UCCSAC AGM, Friday 16 May

Hey everybody, some concrete details on the club’s AGM, which is coming up on Friday 16 May 2014. Short version: meet in the Franciscan Well on North Mall at 19.30, to start in the upstairs room at 20.00 sharp. From prospective members, to continuing and returning members, to burnt-out husks former and retiring committee members, all are welcome! More details below.

The time and place are as above: we have booked the upstairs room in the Franciscan Well next Friday from 20.00 onwards, at which time (exactly) the meeting will start, so get yourself there before then, basically. The final agenda will be available closer to the date, but here are the highlights:

  • We’ll run down the club’s activities so far this (banner) year and talk about plans for the coming season, which is almost upon us. We’ve achieved a great deal and have a lot more planned; some of it even involves diving!
  • Looking further forward, we’ve been compiling a 5-year plan. The club has been expanding and raising its profile over the last few years, and we’re ambitious about the next few. You can expect news of the new boat, the new clubhouse, the floating casino in international waters, and so on.
  • Perhaps most importantly, we’ll be electing a new committee. This is your opportunity to have your say, put a stop to the rot infecting the club, and generally throw your weight around. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain!

Committee positions

All of the committee positions are up for grabs this year. The list of posts is below. We’ll post up more details of what duties each of these posts requires between now and the meeting.

If you’re interested in taking up one of these posts but, for whatever reason, can’t make it to the AGM, then contact me to let me know that you want it and why you think you’re suitable, and I will put you forward for it.
